
Dr. Allen Wong has taught postdoctoral general dentistry for over 35 years in AEGD programs (Pacific and University California San Francisco) and is the director of Pacific’s Hospital Dentistry Program. He has lectured nationally and internationally in the areas of special care dentistry, rotary endodontics, implant restorations, and minimally invasive dentistry. He was active with Special Olympics Special Smiles program (ret. Global Clinical Advisor), Immediate Past President American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD) and President Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA). Retired from 37 years of teaching with the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry as a Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences. He directed a postdoctoral residency program (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) where he taught dentists to incorporate minimally invasive, science-based dentistry strategies to patients with healthcare needs as well as those needing treatment in hospital settings.
Recently inducted as a professor emeritus from the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry and named the Dental Department Head for Kramer Davis Health (a transdisciplinary medical/dental center exclusively for those with IDD) in Nashville, Tennessee.Dr. Allen Wong is a distinguished dental educator and clinician with over 35 years of experience in postdoctoral general dentistry, particularly within Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) programs at the University of the Pacific and the University of California, San Francisco. As the director of Pacific’s Hospital Dentistry Program, he has significantly contributed to the advancement of dental practices for patients with special healthcare needs.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wong has lectured nationally and internationally on topics including special care dentistry, rotary endodontics, implant restorations, and minimally invasive dentistry. His leadership roles encompass serving as the Immediate Past President of the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD) and President of the Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA). Additionally, he has been actively involved with the Special Olympics Special Smiles program as a Global Clinical Advisor.
Dr. Wong’s dedication to dental education is further exemplified by his tenure as a Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, where he directed a postdoctoral residency program focused on integrating minimally invasive, science-based dentistry strategies for patients requiring hospital-based care. Upon retiring after 37 years of teaching, he was honored with the title of Professor Emeritus.
In his current role, Dr. Wong serves as the Dental Department Head for Kramer Davis Health, a transdisciplinary medical and dental center exclusively dedicated to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Nashville, Tennessee.
