
DMD Candidate | Global Oral health Advocate
Iman Kedir Mudesir is a passionate global health advocate and a rising voice in the fields of oral and public health. With a deep commitment to health equity, youth leadership, and community empowerment, She currently serves as the Country Director for Ethiopia at the Africa Public Health Students Network, and is the Co-founder and Vice President of Ethio Health Alliance, a youth-led platform she co-founded that drives health advocacy and leadership in Ethiopia through community-based initiatives, awareness campaigns, and youth empowerment programs. Iman is also the General Secretary of the Ethiopian Dental Students Association, and a Youth Advisory Council Member at EngenderHealth.
Iman is a proud alumna of SLGOH 2025 program by the Alliance for Oral Health Across Borders (AOHAB). As part of her SLGOH involvement, she leads a national project titled “Enhancing Awareness of Oral Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Among Primary Healthcare Workers in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.”
She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (expected February 2026). She is also completing a Bachelor’s in Management (expected January 2026), demonstrating a rare blend of clinical knowledge and strategic leadership.
Her global health journey includes earning a Global Health Diploma from ISGlobal – Barcelona Institute for Global Health and graduating from the Public Health Leadership Training offered by IFMSA. She is also a graduate of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) in Civic Leadership, a milestone that further shaped her passion for community-led development and transformative leadership across the continent. In addition to her national and international engagements, she previously served in key leadership roles within the Rotaract Club of Fanos as Treasurer and Interact Director, helping design and implement community-centered health outreach programs.
Iman proudly serves on the Board of Directors of AOHAB as a SLOGH Alumni Representative, where she brings forward the perspectives of a new generation of health leaders. Through her ongoing work, she continues to champion equitable access to oral health, strengthen health systems, and inspire fellow young professionals to lead with purpose, compassion, and vision.
