Dr. Ömer Faruk Sönmez is a dentist and global health researcher with expertise in oral health policy, health systems, and sustainability. He holds an MPH from the University of Sheffield and an MSc in European Public Health Leadership from Maastricht University, earned under the Erasmus Mundus Excellence Scholarship.
With research experience at the OECD, Public Health Wales, and WFPHA, he has published widely on topics including HPV prevention, oral health equity, and climate-health integration. He completed the 2023 Global Oral Health Student Leadership Programme of AOHAB and now serves as its Board Alumni Representative, advocating for cross-sectoral solutions to global oral health challenges.
