
Dr. Deborah Weisfuse holds an MS in biomedical research from the State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center and a DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She completed a general practice residency and served as Chief Resident at Northwell Medical Center on Long Island.
Dr. Weisfuse currently serves as President of the Alliance for Oral Health Across Borders and as a Commissioner on the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Her leadership and service include roles as Consultant to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, Advisor to the Board of the New York County Dental Society, and active participation on councils and committees within the American Dental Association. Notably, she was the first woman to serve as President of the New York State Dental Association.
Her volunteerism has been recognized with the ADA’s Jeffrey Dalin Volunteer Award for Distinguished Service for her “Give Kids a Smile” work in New York City, and she received a New York State Assembly proclamation honoring her contributions to oral health across the state. In addition to private practice experience in New York, she has held roles in hospital dentistry, academia, and on numerous foundation and organizational boards.
